Chapter 93 ending

The next month and a half went by in a flash. Half of Supul Academy was destroyed, so the school just decided to give everyone an A for the rest of the year.

The pod, Dante, and Sara all became the most famous people in Trenton.

But none of them were half as famous as Vicky.

“Aah! It's the monster!” some random kid in the hallway screamed.

Vicky growled angrily.

The kid ran away screaming.

It was finally the day of graduation. Everyone in their grade was lined up behind the stage. A huge crowd sat facing them.

“And we'd like to give a huge thanks to Ashley Muscles, Vito Rodent, Alex Muhdde, and George Ieatpeople for saving these next childrens' lives,” Noriega said into the microphone.

The crowd cheered.

“Dante Multiplex!”

He stepped out. The crowd cheered happily. There was no surprise that he was graduating.

“Sara Smilehappygirl!”

The crowd burst into applause.

“She's the girl!” Justin Tinkleheart shouted.

“Vicky Apple!”

The crowd screamed in fear. Sonya burst in to delighted screams. Vicky stomped out, grabbed the trophy, and left.

“Conrad Teatea!”

“YEAH!!” Gaga and Miss Nana screamed.

“BOO! BOO!” Freckles yelled.

“Logan Grace!”

Lukas, Shanaynay, and Alexis Grace burst into applause, louder than the rest of the crowd.

“Aaaand... Maria Flakk!”

The crowd cheered again. Maria bounced out, happily accepted her trophy, and skipped around the stage triumphantly.

The crowd stared blankly.

“Oh yeah,” Miley said, satisfied. She leaned back in her chair. “That's a girl who made the climb.”

Later, they were all in Noriega's class for the last period of the year.

“Well, since I never got to pass out these text books from half a year ago, there's nothing else to do except sing. Maria, would you like to sing a song summarizing the year?” Noriega asked.

“Um not doin' it,” Maria replied.

Noriega dismissed the class to talk. Maria, Logan, Conrad, Vicky, and Sara sat in a circle.

“What a strange year this has been. Thank goodness we survived it,” Vicky said.

“Yes,” Conrad said, pouring tea. “Shall we toast?”

The five picked up their tea cups.

“To us,” Sara said.

“And to actually surviving the school year!” Logan said.

“And to many more,” Maria said.

They all took a polite sip of tea, just as the final bell rang.

And the school year was finally over.

Soz for the freaking worst ending in the history of books

Chapter 92 The Supul Orb

Sara sprinted through Trenton.

Clovervicky was somewhere else in town, attacking the pod.

Her friends.

She was hear to save them, and all of Trenton. It was all up to her.

She reached the Supul Academy parking lot.

The Academy had a gaping hole on the side of the building.

The school was slowly collapsing.

*gI have to do this,*h she said to herself, and started to run.

*gSara!*h someone screamed.

It was Sonya. Her and Miley were standing outside of the Academy.

*gGet to somewhere safe!*h Sara cried, and ran inside.

Chunks of the ceiling were crumbling and falling to the floor. Sara dodged in between them, trying to reach the basement.

Reaching the entrance, she leaped down the stairs, stumbling through the darkness to reach Dante's locker.

It was locked. Sara looked around desperately, then grabbed a boulder off the ground and smashed it into the locker. The door came of its hinges, clattering to the ground.

She dropped the rock and reached inside Dante's locker.

Yes!

She grabbed the glowing Supul orb, and ran for the stairs.

By now, the Academy was collapsing even faster. Sara ducked to avoid a falling boulder, clutching the Supul orb close to her.

Several boulders were going to land right on top of her. She threw herself to the ground and rolled away, crashing in to the far wall. The exit was so close!

Getting to her feet, she sprinted to the exit, ducking outside just in time.

Not breaking her stride, she sprinted to the center of the town, where Clovervicky was.

The whole town was covered with a thick fog. As Sara ran, the orb grew brighter, and some of the Supul in the air around her cleared. The dark day suddenly grew a lot brighter.

Clovervicky was now in sight.

*gClovervicky!*h she screamed, getting closer. The monster didn't hear her. She ran down the road, getting closer.

*gCLOVERVICKY!*h

The monster turned to face her. Sara saw Maria's plane crashing down through the sky behind her, and prayed that no one was inside.

Clovervicky saw her, and roared furiously.

*gHERE I COME!*h Sara screamed. She raced forward, throwing the orb at the monster.

Clovervicky lunged at her, dodging the orb. Sara threw herself to the ground, and rolled behind a building for cover. Concrete flew everywhere around her.

Sara crouched down, trying to catch her breath. Clovervicky wasn't making any noises. Had it worked? She peeked out from behind the building -

The entire structure started to shake precariously, as though it was about to fall down on top of her. Screaming, she got up and started to run away.

Clovervicky saw her and lunged, smashing the ground around Sara. The grass beneath her exploded, flinging Sara high in to the air.

She screamed, crashing into a small tree across the park, and toppling over. She then stopped running, awaiting the final blow -

All was silent.

Clovervicky had stopped roaring. Sara turned around.

The Supul orb had crashed into the road and cracked open, releasing a powerful surge of whatever was inside of it. It had struck Clovervicky, and the monster had froze.

Slowly, Clovervicky started to shrink. She became smaller, and the roaring stopped.

Soon, all was completely silent. Sara ran forward.

By the time she got there, Vicky lay on the ground unconscious. Sara knelt down next to her.

*gVicky,*h Sara whispered. Vicky's eyes wouldn't open. She wasn't breathing.

*gVicky!*h Sara sobbed, shaking her. She still wouldn't react. Had she gone too long without the Britemiscope...?

*gVICKY!*h

Finally, Vicky's eyes cracked open, weakly at first. After seeing Sara, she smiled.

*gSara,*h she smiled. *gBFF.*h

Sara sobbed, hugging her close, tears streaming down her face.

*gOwe, no huggie!*h Vicky said, pushing Sara off of her. *gMy head still hurts.*h

Sara chuckled.

*gDon't worry. You're gonna be ok.*h

Someone could be heard approaching. Looking up, they saw it was Sonya.

*gSONYA!*h

*gVICKY!*h

The two sisters collapsed, sobbing and hugging. Everything seemed like it was going to be ok...

Until Miley showed up.

*gWhere's...?*h Miley whispered so only Sara could hear.

With a jolt, Sara remembered how she had seen Maria's plane collapsing into the ground. She took of sprinting to where she had seen the plane...

*gMOVE, GEORGE, MOVE!*h Alex, Ashley, and Vito screamed. They were back in their human forms, pushing the Supul George over a few feet.

Up in the sky, Maria was hurtling to the ground. All she could see was the sky, which was suddenly bright. She didn't have much time until she was going to crash into the ground -

Maria hit George's stomach, hard. She bounced up and down like she was on a trampoline. Logan, Conrad, and Dante also landed safely on George's stomach.

They had survived!

*gGUYS!*h

Looking up, the group saw Vicky, Sara, Sonya, and Miley sprinting towards them.

*gGuys! We're alive!*h Dante cried.

The four slid off of the quickly shrinking George.

*gAshley, Vito, Alex and George saved us as we were falling!*h Maria exclaimed.

*gIt was quite close,*h Dante said.

*gBut you did it!*h Logan cried.

*gYou saved us all!*h Conrad said.

Chapter 92 Part 2

Clovervicky could be heard just behind them.

The race to Supul Academy was on. If they let Clovervicky beat them, their plan, and Trenton, were over. They HAD to win.

All four sets of hands slammed into the gas pedal at the same time, launching them ahead.

“Come on...!”

Clovervicky reached out to grab them. Maria spun the plane to the left, avoiding her reach. They spun out of control, heading towards the Academy.

Maria managed to stop spinning the plane, just feet away from the Academy walls. Clovervicky leaped after them. Maria steered away from the Academy, hoping to lead the monster away.

“She's blocking the entrance! How are we gonna get in?!”

Clovervicky's hand was slowly coming towards them...

Dante grabbed the yoke, jamming it to the left. They turned, slamming through a window, and into the Academy.

CRUNCH!

Inside, all was silent. The plane sped along the hallway swiftly.

“Whoa! That was a close one!”

As they flew along the hallways, they passed several things they were so used to seeing daily, except this time in a brand new light. They passed Noriega's classroom, and the Supul closet inside.

Past the basement entrance, with all of its mysteries inside.

Past the girl's bathroom, with a shallow puddle of tea leaking out into the hallway.

“If we could just lead Clovervicky down into the cafeteria, it might work,” Maria said.

“Hurry! I think I hear something!” Miley called. Sonya and Mr. Conelly rushed in, arms filled with apples from the kitchen, and dropped them into a giant pit of apples they already created.

“Why am I here?” Mr. Conelly whined, shivering with fear.

“To SAVE THE WORLD!” Miley said.

The plane soared in, landing on the floor. Maria, Logan, Conrad, and Dante rushed out.

“Is the apple pit ready?!” Maria asked.

Miley and Sonya glanced at the giant pile of apples a couple of feet to the left, and didn't say anything.

“Is she really going to come in here?” Mr. Conelly whined.

“Yes, which is why Miley and Sonya need to get out of here,” Conrad said.

There was a distant rumbling.

“Hurry!” Miley cried, grabbing Sonya's arm and going to leave. After another nervous glance, Sonya followed her.

“HAY!” Logan shouted. Mr. Conelly was trying to sneak away!

“Get him!” Dante cried.

Mr. Conelly sprinted out of the room screaming.

“No!” Conrad gasped.

The rumbling grew louder. Without any warning, Clovervicky burst through the far wall, roaring horribly.

“RUN!!”

The four sprinted towards the plane.

Clovervicky screamed an ear-splitting scream, the apples scorching her skin.

“It's hurting her, but it's not turning her back into Vicky!” Maria whispered.

“Let's get out of here,” Dante said.

The plane flew out of the cafeteria. Clovervicky was completely silent.

“Did... it work?” Maria asked.

Clovervicky smashed through the floor roaring, even angrier than before.

“OH MY GOD!”

Maria looked forward. It was a dead end.

“Guys, this is - “

“MOVE!”

Once again, Dante steered the plane out of the Academy through a window, this time barely avoiding Clovervicky's mouth.

“We can't keep avoiding her,” Logan said. “There has to be an end to this all, soon.”

Clovervicky had followed them outside.

“The engine can't take it!” Maria screamed. The plane was beginning to drop right out of the sky, little by little.

“LEFT!”

Maria steered to the left, looping behind a building.

“We have to find some place to hide!” Conrad screamed.

Maria spun upside down to avoid a truck that Clovervicky had thrown at them.

“We're going down...”

The plane began spiraling to the ground. Clovervicky was getting ready for the final strike.

“NO!”

The plane jolted to the left. The wing snapped off, plummeting to the ground. The four toppled in to each other.

“NOOO!”

The windows smashed, glass cutting their skin.

“HERE IT COMES!”

The nose of the plane was knocked off. The front caught on fire.

“WAAH!”

“LOGAN!!”

Maria saw Logan being sucked out of a hole in the wall of the plane.

Before she knew it, she herself was airborne, free falling through the air. All she could see was the sky, which was suddenly much brighter.

“MARIA!”

“PLEASE!”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!”

CRUNCH!!!

Chapter 91 Part 1

“We HAVE to be careful,” Dante reminded the group once again.

The four were coming down from Mt. Climb. Trenton could not be seen, because it was far in the distance and there was a huge cloud of fog in its place.

“I really hope our plan works,” Logan said nervously.

“The timing has to be perfect,” Conrad whispered.

“We can do it,” Dante said, faking confidence.

The small group walked to the edge of the Delaware River. Across the bridge was Trenton, Supul Academy... and Clovervicky.

The four walked up to the Delaware bridge...

Or at least what was left of it.

“Wow,” Conrad said.

The left half of the bridge was still stable, but the entire right half was replaced by a giant bite mark. Whatever remained of the bridge was twisted up, cracks running up and down the entire structure. The left half was tilted at an incredibly dangerous angle, facing the deadly waters of the Delaware river.

In other words, there was no way to Trenton.

“This ain't good,” Logan said.

“Maria, can't you call your plane or something?” Dante asked nervously.

Maria shook her head.

“Only when I have Supul.”

“Well, there's only one way across then.”

Everyone stared at the nearly-destroyed bridge silently.

“I'll go first,” Maria broke the silence.

“Are you sure we want to cross the bridge?” Conrad asked.

“Yeah. I don't think there's any other way.”

Maria grabbed the edge of the left side of the bridge, and hoisted herself on top of it. It wasn't like the remaining half of the bridge was going to collapse under their weight, but there was so little room to move, and the cement was so fragile...

Maria started to gradually worm her way across the bridge. Conrad climbed on after her, followed by Logan. Dante was last. They had to be extremely careful. Just one slip and a couple yards...

They climbed across in silence, groping for hand and foot holds. Maria put her foot on a solid-looking chunk of cement -

Crunch!

It cracked beneath her feet, skittering down the side of the bridge and into the deadly waters just yards beneath them. Maria gasped, groping for a strong handhold -

She slid down the side of the bridge, screaming. She tried to grab something, anything. Logan Conrad and Dante yelled and shouted in the background. Suddenly, she felt nothing beneath her, and something snagged on her jacket, ripping it in half. Her hand flew up, and she barely caught the edge of the bridge.

She stopped sliding.

“Is she still there?” Dante asked shakily, almost whispering.

Maria opened her eyes. Her neck down was hanging off the side of the twisted bridge, less than a yard above the river. Her jacket, which had caught onto a sharp rock, was torn in half right down the middle. She was barely holding on to a cement chunk right on the edge of the bridge.

“Yeah! I'm here!” Maria called.

“Can you climb back up?” Logan called down to her.

There was a little bit of silence.

“Yeah. Definitely.”

Maria focused deeply. She calmly breathed in and out, like Miley had taught her. She could do this. She would make it.

With the arm that wasn't clinging on to the chunk of cement that saved her life, she felt around for a higher rock. Feeling one, she clung on to it, and hauled herself up. Gradually, she worked her way back onto the bridge completely.

“Ok. Let's go.”

There was a short moment of silence.

“Wow,” Conrad said.

After slowly and incredibly carefully inching their way across the bridge, the group arrived at Trenton. They hopped off of the bridge gratefully.

“Ok. Here we are. This is it,” Dante said.

“Everyone ready?” Maria asked.

The group nodded.

“Ok. Let's go.”

The four crossed into the city.

Everything around them was silent, besides from the distant roaring and smashing. The fog that surrounded the city obscured their vision, so that they couldn't even see five feet ahead of them.

As they traveled, Maria noticed something was wrong. Something about the whole scene just seemed so... off. Maybe it was because she was so used to seeing the streets filled with people... no, that wasn't it.

“Hey... wait a minute. This... isn't fog,” she said. Everything seemed blurier... she couldn't think clearly...

“She's right!” Logan cried. “This is Supul!”

The four could already feel the Supul changes beginning.

“RUN!” Conrad screamed.

They had to reach a Supul-free area, and fast, before they were sent into their Supul forms and couldn't control themselves.

“Where are we going?!” Dante's voice called from somewhere in the fog.

“To my plane! It has vacuum-protected walls and crap!” Maria yelled.

Just as they were getting nearer to Supul Academy, four dark figures slowly emerged through the fog, walking directly towards them.

“Oh no...,” all four humans said.

Facing them were Ashley, Vito, Alex, and George, all in their Supul forms. A hulking scorpion, Vrat, the bacon scarecrow, and deBlob.

“Get ready, guys!” Dante cried.

Vrat was the first to jump, landing directly in front of Maria. Before anyone could defend her, the other three demons had attacked.

Logan was shoved over onto the ground by an unknown force. He scrambled to his feet, and found himself face-to-face with the bacon scarecrow. It threw a punch at him, blasting him back through the air in less than a second. He had to time to react.

Conrad dodged deBlob's blubber blast, leaping through the air and rolling underneath a park bench, which was destroyed a second later. Conrad lurched out of the way.

Dante didn't know what hit him. It felt like a miniature truck had hit him in the face. He flew back, smashing into a wall.

The scorpion was on him like ugly on an ape, punching him and kicking him, almost literally tearing him apart.

There was almost no hope. The four were being relentlessly destroyed...

That's when the Supul kicked in.

Logan socked Alex right in the face, his arm alight with green flames. Alex spun around. Logan zapped him with a laser beam from his eyes. Alex soared through the air, smashing through a brick wall and into a building.

Crunch!

“Teateatea,” Conrad whispered to himself, rocking back and forth. Just as George was about to slam him into oblivion, Conrad exploded like a time bomb. George screamed in shock, his blubber being severely burned.

Ashley was pummeling Dante into dust. She raised her stinger for the final attack, and went to stab him – suddenly, Dante caught it just inches from his throat, stopping it with brute force. He completely twisted the stinger around, then kicked her in the stomach. She doubled over in pain, defeated.

Meanwhile, Vrat was just about to bite out Maria's throat. She whipped her head to the side, whacking his face with a huge amount of hair. She then leaped to her feet, and whistled for her plane.

“GUYS, COME ON!” she had just enough time to scream, before Vrat lunged at her again. She threw herself to the ground, rolling to the left and getting to her feet again in less than a second. Vrat skittered out of sight. Maria took advantage of the fog and hid.

There was still a little bit of anti-Supul sanity left in them...

Her plane flew into sight, crashing through buildings and Ashley's head to get to them. It clumsily landed in front of her.

“COME ON GUYS!!”

Maria leaped inside, followed by Logan and Conrad.

“Where's Dante?!”

He leaped into sight, flying into the plane. Logan slammed the door shut.

All 4 sighed, the Supul leaving their system. Maria started to drive down the road at top speed.

“Fly away! They're catching up!” Conrad cried, looking out the back window.

“I can't! If I do, Clovervicky might see us,” Maria said.

“Well, then DRIVE faster!” Logan screamed.

Alex leaped on the window, blocking Maria's view. She screamed as it started to scratch through the window.

The plane jolted, as though something heavy had landed on the roof. Vrat started to claw its way through the ceiling.

Crunch!!

Ashley punched the side, creating a huge dent. A shadow crossed over the windows as deBlob got closer.

“Maria! FLY!” Dante roared.

Without another thought, Maria pulled the yoke back as far as it would go. The plane started to fly straight up, almost vertical. Alex was flung off the window.

All four sighed in relief. They had escaped!

“Now all we have to do is get to Supul Academy and - “ Conrad began.

“Shh! We don't want to make any noise. Clovervicky might hear us,” Maria said.

They flew in silence. Logan, Conrad, and Dante gazed out of the windows, keeping watch.

“There she is,” Logan whispered, just above a breath.

Maria peered out the window. A gigantic mass was standing there, right in the middle of the city, less than half a mile away, taller than most buildings.

Clovervicky.

Maria, Logan, Conrad, and Dante were staring at it with such amazement that they didn't even notice what she was looking at.

“She sees us,” Dante said. The other three turned to stare at him.

“SHE SEES US! GO!” Dante screamed.

Maria grabbed the yoke, spinning it around rapidly. Clovervicky lurched forward, roaring.

The plane barely dodged her. She had jumped half a mile to reach them.

“LEFT!” Logan screamed. The plane turned so fast that the 3 toppled to the floor. Clovervicky could be seen spinning past the window, roaring furiously.

“Come on! GO!” Dante shouted.

Maria pressed the gas pedal into the floor, literally grinding a tiny piece of it off.

“HOLD ON!” she screamed, steering it straight down towards the ground. It shot straight in between Clovervicky's closing fingers.

“WHOA!”

Dante's butt crashed into the back of Maria's head. She slammed forward, painfully smashing into the dashboard, and ricocheted back, tumbling out of the seat, leaving the plane for a free-fall.

Conrad toppled over into the seat.

“WAAH!”

Not knowing what he was doing, he grabbed the yoke, pulling it all the way out. The plane turned from straight down to straight up just seconds before it crashed into the road. The tail smacked into the road, sparks flying.

Maria shoved Conrad to the floor, steadying the plane. Everyone was able to get back to their feet.

“LOOK! THERE IT IS!” Logan screamed, pointing straight ahead.

Everyone looked ahead, once again filled with hope.

There it was!!

SUPUL ACADEMY!!

Unfortunately, their view was then blocked off by the giant black monster that they had almost forgotten about, and they were brought crashing back to unfortunate reality.

Chapter 90 The Climb

Maria led the way, with Conrad, Logan, and Dante behind her. It had only been a couple of minutes, but it seemed like they were climbing for forever.

“Maria... I don't think we're going to make it to the top,” Logan wheezed.

“No!” Maria said. “We kind of HAVE to keep going!”

The 3 behind her dropped down to the ground. Maria stopped in her tracks.

“Come on!” she said impatiently. “Clovervicky!”

“You're the only one... who knows how to make the climb,” Conrad panted.

“Go on without us,” Dante gasped for breath.

“No!” Maria cried. “You guys have to listen to me!!”

Maria took a deep breath. Logan, Conrad, and Dante stared at her.

“After all this time,” Maria began, “I finally know what the true meaning of the climb is. Before this, I never took Miley or the climb seriously. I would just... not even try hard enough. Not pay attention. Not work.”

She met eye contact with Logan. He knew what she meant the best, with his personal climb he gave her in science.

“But all of the recent events have changed my mind about this. I know that the climb isn't just getting to the top no matter the costs. It's how you get there.”

She looked at Conrad, who had been with her the most, since the Supul House to when Logan turned into a narwhal.

“If you guys refuse to come with me, the so do I. Fine. We let Katie win.”

It took a while, but the 3 did get up to their feet, ready to make the final stretch.

“Life is a climb,” Maria said. “But the view is @#$!@# great.”

The four began traveling again, slowly gaining altitude and getting closer to their destination. It was incredibly hard work, probably the hardest part of the year, but they kept moving.

Finally, the peak was in sight. Ignoring the pain, Maria led them to the top.

They had done it. They had made the climb!

It really was a great view. They could see all of Trenton in a single glance. It was completely worth it.

Supul Academy could clearly be seen, unharmed as of yet.

A massive monster could also be seen, slowly eating a huge skyscraper.

“Ready?” Maria asked. Logan, Conrad, and Dante nodded, and began the final climb.

Chapter 89 Dante!

Maria's face slammed into the ground, burying itself deeply. Dante landed on top of her.

“OFF!” Maria's muffled voice screamed desperately.

Dante rolled off of her. Maria emerged from the ground, covered in dirt, gasping for breath.

“OK,” Dante panted, nervously looking up the the nest on top of the tall mountain. “Two hours HAS to be almost over. We should find Conrad and Logan, and then crouch inside of a nice, cozy hiding place.”

“Boqay,” Maria nodded, spitting out mud.

Dante helped Maria to her feet.

“Come on.”

As they walked, something occurred to Maria. Dante hadn't even tried to hit on her for a couple months, since the Runescape crap.

“Hey did you finally give in and admit - “

“Shh!!”

Dante shoved himself and Maria into a shrub.

“Not another dino,” Maria pleaded.

Another dino indeed.

A TYRANNOSAURUS!!

“Heart attack,” Maria whispered.

The Tyrannosaurus clearly didn't notice them. It continued its walk, sniffing for flesh.

Maria and Dante sighed in relief.

“... Miss Nana can truly do well in the female rapping industry.”

Maria and Dante rose their heads curiously. Was that...! Maria pointed out of the bush. Conrad and Logan were walking directly towards the Tyrannosaurus, concentrating on their Miss Nana trading cards too much to notice!

“They're dead meat,” Maria said.

Dante gasped.

“We have to do something!” he said.

“But the Tyrannosaurus will smell us if we do!” Maria exclaimed.

“Fine. Stay here. Two is better than one.”

“No!” Maria cried.

“I got us into this mess. I owe it to them.”

Maria gasped when the meaning of his words sank in. She grabbed at his ankles, but missed. “NO!”

“HAY! HAY, BIG T!” Dante screamed, jumping around in clear sight, waving his arms in the air.

Logan and Conrad stopped in their tracks.

“Who's he calling?” Conrad asked. Logan shrugged.

The Tyrannosaurus turned to Dante.

“YEAH! THAT'S RIGHT! I HAVE FLESH!” Dante cried.

The hungry Tyrannosaurus charged.

“How long was that Tyrannosaurus there?” Logan asked. Conrad shrugged.

Maria watched openmouthed from the shrub.

“JUMP!” she screamed. Why wouldn't he jump?!

The Tyrannosaurus got closer. Dante wasn't going to escape.

Maria threw all caution to the wind and leaped out of the shrub, sprinting directly towards Dante. Feet away, she jumped, slamming right into him. Both toppled over onto the ground, tumbling a few feet over, and out of the way. The T-Rex continued running, although this time after a baby Plesiosaur.

Maria and Dante remained on the ground, gasping for breath. Finally, they both sat up, still in slight shock.

“That was awesome,” Dante said.

They stared each other in the eyes. Maria took a step closer – and kissed him directly on the lips. (SORRY MIMI!! :O)

Maria finally realized how much Dante meant to her. While he was very annoying, he had done so much for her, and Maria had never appreciated any of it. Not anymore. If they both survived this entire ordeal, things would be different. She would treat him better.

Like a boyfriend, even.

They stepped back, upon feeling a slight tug.

“We're going back to present time,” Dante said. Maria took his hand.

Lights flashed all around them, tiny at first, but gradually growing brighter and stronger. Logan and Conrad quickly caught up to them.

The ground vanished from beneath their feet. They were now in a world made completely of light. Maria felt herself soaring through whatever it was they were in, feeling nothing except Dante's hand at her side.

It ended almost before it began. The four slammed to the ground in the middle of a dense forest, back in normal time.

They quickly got to their feet, looking around.

“This isn't Supul Academy...,” Conrad said. “Nor is it a girl's bathroom.”

“But... then where are we?!” Logan asked.

In the back of Maria's head, something felt something familiar. As though she had seen this place so many times before, but had never stepped foot near it...

She gasped.

“The climb!” he said.

All of her climb training with Miley had been spent staring at the gigantic mountain she was supposed to conquer.

And now, here she was, without her mentor, up close and personal.

“I know where this is. Mt. Climb,” Maria said.

Logan, Conrad, and Dante gasped.

“And by the looks of it,” Maria continued, “we're on the opposite side to Trenton.”

“That's it then,” Dante said. “No way any of us are going to ever make it over this mountain. Trenton's doomed.”

He sat down on a boulder, defeated. Logan and Conrad sighed angrily with despair, also giving up.

“No,” Maria said, like she had suddenly realized something. The 3 looked up at her.

“No,” she repeated. “I know exactly how we're going to make it over. Follow me.”

Chapter 88 Oops Wrong Era

The 4 were zapped onto a dirt-layered ground, all on their backs, in a huge static explosion. They were in a shallow puddle of tea.

The world seemed so much younger – the sky was bluer, the ground was um groundier.

The first to awaken was Dante, who was accustom to time travel.

“Hm. I quite like this,” Dante said.

The other 3 gradually woke up.

“CLOVERVICKY?!” Logan screamed, sitting up.

“Don't worry,” Conrad said, glaring at Dante. “She won't exist for another 10 billion years.”

“Really, Dante?” Maria asked angrily. “You HAD to destroy our otherwise flawless plan?”

“If you guys took 3 seconds out of your day to explain what was going on, then everything would be fine!” Dante cried.

“Yeah. Let's just stop for a chat while Clovervicky eats the world in the background,” Maria growled.

“No more arugementing!” Logan cried.

“What era are we in, anyway?” Conrad asked.

“Before TIME STARTED!!” Maria screamed directly in Dante's face.

“How is that even possible?” Logan asked.

“I doubt such an era exists,” Dante said. “And Logan's right – even if it did, there wouldn't be a possible way of getting there, even with our magical sink. It's too far away. Anyway, we're in the Cretaceous era.”

“How do you know?” Conrad asked.

“Dung sample.”

Dante pointed to a sizable pile of dung a couple yards away.

Logan crawled over to it and sniffed.

“Yup. Cretaceous,” he nodded.

Maria and Conrad looked at him blankly, smiling slightly.

“Well that's what Dante did!” Logan said.

“Um anyway come on,” Dante said. “Judging by that dung, we're in Tyrannosaurus territory. Let's go.”

Dante led the pod away from the dung and into a lush jungle.

Logan crept back to the dung.

He sniffed.

“Yep. Tyrannosaurus,” he said, and followed the group.

Dante quickly crawled among a field of tall ferns. The pod followed.

“SHHHHH!!” Dante said. “We have to be very quiet and INCREDIBLY sneaky!!!”

“Why?” Maria asked.

“There's a triceratops to our left flank!” Dante whispered. “Shh!”

Indeed, a triceratops was grazing the ferns about 10 feet away.

“Hmm,” Conrad said.

“Let's get out of here. That dinosaur reminds me of my wicked stepsister,” Maria said. She, along with her comrades, had quite forgotten that the triceratops species were herbivores.

“It's mate has returned!” Logan gasped, watching a female triceratops lumber towards them.

“Oh my GOD!” Maria screamed. “THE OFFSPRING HAVE ARRIVED!!”

Three triceratoplets crawled towards them.

“COUSINS!” Dante roared.

“Coworkers,” Conrad gasped.

“NEIGHBORS!”

“FRIENDS!”

“TELEMARKETERS!”

“LET'S FLEE!”

The 4 got up, sprinting through the ferns. Logan screamed as a triceratops gently sniffed him.

“There's no point,” Conrad whispered. “THEY HAVE US SURROUNDED!!”

“Jump over the newborns!” Logan cried.

The 4 jumped about 10 feet off of the ground (due to the extreme adrenaline) and soared away.

When they hit the ground, they took off sprinting. The triceratops ignored them completely.

“We seem to have escaped. Everything looks clear OH MY GOD A NARWHAL!!” Dante screamed.

“Shut up they don't exist yet,” Conrad said.

Dante blinked.

“Oh.”

“Where exactly are we headed, DANTE?!” Logan asked.

“Taylor Swift has been here,” Dante said, sniffing footprints in the dirt.

“What?!”

“I don't know,” Dante replied, standing up. “But what I do know is that people can only be in the Fountain of Time for a limited amount of time. After 2 hours, it automatically sends the traveler back to the present time they left from. It conserves energy for the next traveler. Pretty nifty, no?”

“WHAT THE HECK!” Maria screamed, throwing rocks at Dante's head. “We don't have 2 hours to dillydally! We probably won't survive this harsh environment (just look at what happened back there...!) AND Clovervicky will eat everyone meanwhile!”

“What other alternative is there?!” Dante cried.

Silence.

“We can... oh wait never mind that's impossible,” Maria said.

“Come on. Let's survive,” Dante said.

“I'm pretty sure there's no chance for that,” Conrad said.

“Why would you say that?!” Dante demanded angrily.

“Because there is a Velociraptor lunging at your throat,” Conrad smiled politely.

Dante threw himself to the ground. Said velociraptor soared over his body, landing just yards away.

Many velociraptors rushed in, hissing angrily, scratching, tails flicking.

“Jump over the newborns!” Logan repeated, preparing himself for the jump. Dante grabbed him.

“They can jump higher than us! You jump, you won't hit the ground alive hon,” Dante said.

“Crap!” Logan cried. “I love jumping...”

Maria quickly unfurled a hunk of cheese from her satchel, and flung it over the raptor's heads. They sprinted after it, mistaking it for a young plesiosaur.

The 4 sprinted away in the opposite direction. It didn't take the velociraptors long to figure out Maria's trick, and soon they were roaring after them.

“Let's jump!” Logan cried. Dante threw a stone at his head.

“We can't outrun them!” Conrad screamed.

A flock out Pteridactyls swooped down out of the sky, and lifted them high up just beneath the clouds.

Maria looked down to the velociraptors, which looked like tiny running sausages.

“Well, that was random, convenient, and weird. But I guess we should be thankful to these winged beasts for saving our lives from inevitable destruction,” she said.

The Pteridactyls squawked like mighty chickens on the sky.

Underneath them, the velociraptors were stil giving chase. They tried snapping at their feet, but to no avail. The 4 cackled evilly.

“Take us away, please,” Conrad said.

The Pteridactyls soared even high.

Logan wiped off his forehead.

“That was a close one. Thank goodness these birds randomly decided to save us and listen to every word we say.”

The dinobirds alighted down on a large nest made of prehistoric twigs.

“Oh geez. We should have figured there would have been a catch,” Conrad gasped.

Little baby Pteridactyl-lets began to crawl towards them, chirping pathetically.

“I think we can take 'em,” Logan whispered.

“We're not going to fight little baby dino roosters! Let's just flee!” Dante said.

The 4 hurried to the edge of the nest.

“GET 'EM, GIRLS!” Mother Pteridactyl screamed.

“Wtf,” Maria muttered.

Dante grabbed her, and went to jump over the edge. The mother lurched, landing in front of them. They tumbled backwards in surprise, falling on their rear ends.

Meanwhile, Conrad and Logan faced the three babies. Conrad pretended to run to the left. The babies blocked the path.

“They're too smart,” Logan said. “Let's ju- “

“NO JUMPING!” Conrad snapped. “Let's both run each direction.”

Conrad sprinted left, and Logan sprinted right. The babies attempted to separate and grab both, but failed. Conrad and Logan tumbled out of the nest, and towards safety.

(Over on the other side of the nest)

“MOVE!” Maria screamed to Mother Pteridactyl.

Dante turned around. The baby Pteridactyls were now heading towards them.

“Maria? Remember what I said about treating the babies nicely and crap to Logan? Forget that!”

Dante kicked the one on the left. It skid back across the nest. Maria attacked the other two, throwing one back to the mother and the other up into the sky randomly.

Dante and Maria sprinted across the nest. The mother lunged towards them. They huddled down and flung themselves out of the nest, just missing the mother's claws. They had escaped.

“BRACE FOR IMPACT! WE'RE GOING DOOOOOOOOOOOWN...!”

Chapter 87 Clovervicky

“I... can't breathe!” Vicky gasped.

“Shut up!” Katie demanded.

Vicky was tied up, deep in the woods outside of Trenton. Katie had given Vicky a piece of bread and a bottle of water to eat each day. The good news – Katie had unknowingly tied her up beneath a banana tree. The bad news – Vicky hated Katie, was kidnapped, and had no Britemiscope.

And she hated bananas O.O

Katie constantly reminded her of her numerous failures this year.

“Sara. The pod,” Katie whispered. “They all pretended to be your friend. So did I.”

She got closer.

“Lol,” she whispered horribly. “You failed. Like always.”

Clovervicky was just millimeters away from break free.

Vicky growled at Katie.

“I. Will. KILL. You,” Vicky growled, and spat directly in Katie's face.

Katie reared back in horror. She wiped it off her face with her sleeve.

“That's IT, you little @#!$@! You little... you APPLE!”

Everything flashed red. Vicky felt the banana tree being crushed beneath her.

Clovervicky was here.

Beneath her, she heard a terrified scream. Her 4 eyes locked in on the source.

Katie.

In less than a second, Clovervicky recalled all that Katie had done to her. All the lies. All the treachery. All the pain.

Clovervicky roared, and lunged.

Katie let out a scream, shielding her face with her hands.

The scream ended a second later. Katie was dead.

Still boiling with rage, Clovervicky turned her attention to Trenton. She was out of control with fury.

She was unstoppable.

Chapter 86 The Fountain of Time

Maria quickly parked her plane in the school parking lot, which was completely deserted otherwise.

“Come on, let's hurry,” Maria said. The 3 quickly got out of the plane, running towards the door.

Maria tugged on the handle.

Locked.

“This is just great! The world is eaten because we can't get through a locked door!” Conrad groaned.

Elsewhere in the city, there was a terrible scream, and a crunch.

Then complete silence.

The pod shared a very special look for a second, then started pounding on the doors.

“PLEASE!”

“LET US IN!”

“HURRY!”

Someone appeared on the other side of the door.

“DANTE!” all 3 yelled.

Dante hurried over, wrenching the door open.

“What are you doing here?!” he cried.

“We were about to ask you the same thing,” Conrad said.

“I SLEEP here! Why is that so hard to understand?!” Dante cried.

“MOVE!” Maria cried, slamming him into the door and shoving him to the ground. She sprinted past him, followed by Conrad and Logan.

“WAIT!” Dante cried, picking himself off of the ground. “I PROTECT THESE HALLS! WHERE ARE YOU GOING AND WHY?!?!”

Maria burst into the girl's bathroom. The pod hurried up to the boiling pot of tea, and removed it from the Fountain of Time.

“Great! We're here! So... how do we travel?” Logan asked.

“Not sure,” Maria mumbled.

“WHAT?!” Conrad cried.

“When Katie was trying to travel,” Maria said, inspecting the fountain,” she was talking to it. Like telling it to do something.”

“Oh hay fountain let's travel!” Logan said.

Nothing ever happened.

“Try again,” Conrad said.

“NO!” Maria shouted. “Just get closer and say random time-related things.”

“Temporal,” Logan said.

“Future please,” Maria said.

“Past,” Conrad whispered.

“Take us back!” Maria slapped it.

“Take us back 10 minutes!” Logan ordered.

“Take us back to the beginning of the school year,” Maria said.

“Take us back to the beginning of the school year PLEASE,” Conrad corrected her.

The fountain booted up.

“Whoa!” all 3 cried.

Lights shot in all directions. The 3 stumbled back in shock.

A roaring sound began. The base of the sink was replaced by a pool of colors. The center sizzled and cracked.

“Get ready!” Conrad cried. The pod took each other's hands. The room rumbled. Conrad found himself wondering if it was from the Fountain... or Clovervicky.

The boiling pot of tea fell over and smashed on the floor. Maria screamed.

“JUMP!” she yelled over the noise.

Dante burst into the room, having been running after them the entire time.

“WAIT! MY FAMILY HAS BEEN TAKING CARE OF THIS PLACE SINCE BEFORE TIME! I CAN'T LET YOU DO THIS!”

The fountain flickered twice, as though changing course. More lights shot out of it.

“FREAKIN'!” Maria screamed at Dante.

The 4 collapsed, being drawn into the Fountain. Shattered fragments of the pot flew everywhere. All they could do was hope that

Chapter 85 Incoming Maria

Lady Gaga's tour bus was now heading back to Trenton.

“I hope Maria and everyone are boqay,” Logan said to Conrad nervously.

“Don't worry, everything will be marvelous, hon,” Miss Nana said.

“Um, boqay...,” Logan said, edging away.

“If anything went wrong, she would have called us or texted us or sent us an e-mail or a fax or a signal fire,” Conrad said.

Outside of the window, a strange airborne figure appeared on the horizon.

Miss Nana sprinted over to the window to inspect it.

“It's a winged moose!” she cried.

Gaga shoved her out of the way.

“It's... an airplane. A really small one,” she announced.

Conrad and Logan looked at each other.

“Maria,” the said together.

“IT'S COMIN' TOWARD US!” Gaga screamed, leaping away from the window.

“What is your PROBLEM?!” Logan asked.

Maria flew up to the tour bus in her tiny plane thing, politely knocking on the window.

Logan answered it.

“Oh hay,” he said.

“Ready to save the world?” Maria asked.

“Oh yes,” Conrad replied.

“You know we were going to drive past your house in around 2 minutes?” Logan asked.

“Get in!” Maria cried.

Logan and Conrad were silent as the bus zoomed by at 50 mph.

“How?” Conrad finally asked.

“Man I should have thought this out more,” Maria muttered.

“I would have helped you,” Miss Nana offered in a friendly manner.

Chapter 84 The Mystery

Maria had to text Miley for directions to Vicky's house. She ran down Apple Grove.

Miley was standing in the doorway by the time Maria found the house.

“What are you doing here? Is something wrong?” Miley asked. Sonya peeked out from the doorway nervously.

“Katie forced Ryan to break up with Sara!” Maria said.

“Ok, but how does that connect with the Vicky thing?” Miley asked.

“What's going on?” Sonya asked nervously.

“Listen to what I discovered – Katie didn't know Vicky or Sara until like halfway through the school year, right? Yet she forced Ryan to break up with Sara just before the first school day! It just doesn't make any sense,” Maria said.

“Whatever, let's just skip that part for now. WHY did Katie enforce the break up?” Miley asked.

“I... I think I know.”

Surprisingly, it was Sonya who spoke.

“What?” Miley asked.

“You guys... know about Clovervicky, right?” Sonya began tentatively. “The more annoyed Vicky gets, the closer she gets to Clovervicky. It's her... Supul state.”

She paused for breath.

“Over the course of the year, Vicky has been getting more and more annoyed from the whiny Sara. It seemed really weird to me. And that's when Katie popped up out of no where. Somehow, Katie knew of Clovervicky. So I think the only reason Katie became Vicky's friend in the first place was because... she wanted to turn Vicky into Clovervicky. She needed to keep a close eye on her.

“So, while we don't know how she did it, the only reason Katie made Ryan and Sara break up was so that Vicky would be annoyed into Clovervicky by an innocent Sara. Why? Because she's evil, and hates my sister.”

By the end, Sonya was almost in tears.

“That's it,” Miley said after a pause. “That's the answer.”

“Katie's the bad guy, not Vicky!” Maria said. “Vicky's innocent.”

She could barely think straight. It had all happened so quickly.

“So how are Katie and Clovervicky to be stopped?” Maria asked.

“And how did Katie time travel back to the first day of school and force Ryan to break up?” Miley asked.

“That's it!” Maria gasped.

Miley and Sonya stared at her.

“Time travel!” Maria continued. “Katie learned of Clovervicky and time traveled to start her plan. And we're going to travel back to stop Katie before she even starts.”

“Hon, I was only kidding,” Miley said.

“No, listen!” Maria exlaimed. “A while back, just before we went to the Supul House, I saw Katie at the Fountain of Time in the girl's bathroom, angrily whispering something to it. Fountain of TIME. She must have gone back in time sometime while we were in Switzerland. That's how she traveled, I'm telling you. And that's how I am, too.”

Miley seemed to struggle for a response.

“But... how would a fountain be able to time travel?” she asked.

“Um, this is SUPUL Academy. Anything is possible,” Maria replied.

“Ok,” Miley finally gave in. “But only because there's no other explanation.”

“Only one more question, then,” Maria said. “How do we stop her?”

Miley and Maria turned to Sonya.

“Do you know a way?” Maria asked.

“Um...,” Sonya was clearly uneasy about something.

“I know a way... but Vicky made me promise to never tell anyone,” Sonya bit her lip.

“Vicky could be in grave danger,” Maria reminded her. “She may not... survive if you don't tell us how to stop her.”

Sonya caved in.

“OK. Vicky is afraid of 3 main things. She made me swear never to tell anyone, but... One is me, jokingly, of course. The second is apples, obviously. Vicky's third greatest fear is... the chorus teacher. Mr. Connelly.”

Maria was silent.

“Uh... boqay,” Maria said.

All eyes were on Maria. It was time to move.

“I need you guys to gather as many apples and Mr. Connellys as you can. Be quick – I don't know how long I will take.”

“What are you gonna do?” Miley asked.

“I'm going to do my best to stop Katie, in the past. Wish me luck.”

Maria walked to the door.

“Wait!”

It was Sonya. Maria turned around to face her.

“Yeah?”

“Maria, I've known you since the beginning of the year, almost. And you've changed so much. For the better. It's like you went from tired and uncooperative to brave and... so much better. It's like... you made a climb, or something.”

Maria briefly met eyes with Sonya, then Miley.

“No,” Maria smiled. “At least, not yet.”

She then ran out to save the world.

Chapter 83 A Polite Chat with Ryan

Maria hurried down the streets, heading towards the trashy part of town.

She was looking for Ryan Verybadword's house.

Though she didn't know exactly where he lived, she was just following her instinct and going to the trashiest house in town.

There was one in the middle of the streets with half the front door missing and hobos crawling inside. Maria walked up to the door and rang the bell.

A couple minutes later, a boy around a year younger than Maria who was dressed in greasy rags answered. His hair dropped down to his waste and his face was nearly concealed in piercings and acne.

“Um... hi completely random stranger,” he grunted.

“Are you Ryan Verybadword?” Maria asked, taking a tiny step away from his stench.

“Yeah...”

Maria mentally prepared herself. This was it. The entire year led up to this.

“Don't ask any questions, PLEASE. There's almost no time left. Everything will make sense eventually. I just need to know ONE thing.” she paused. “Why did you break up with Sara?”

Ryan was visibly confused.

“How...?”

“PLEASE!” Maria said.

Ryan quickly glanced left and right down the roads, as though looking for eavesdroppers.

“Come inside,” he said, nodding to his house. Maria reluctantly entered. Ryan slammed the door shut.

The two were in a dimly lit hallway. Maria looked around cautiously.

“Why are you here?” Ryan demanded. “Who the heck are you, first of all?!”

“UGH! There's just no time!” Maria yelled.

Ryan stared at her unblinking.

“Fine,” Maria said. “I'm Sara's roommate at the Academy. And I'm here because I need to know why you broke up with Sara! Just answer, QUICKLY, so we can both get back to our lives.”

“Why do you need to know?” Ryan demanded.

“Like I said before, there's no time to explain!” Maria exclaimed impatiently. “But there's something really bad happening. REALLY bad. And important. And dangerous.”

“What does this have to do with me and Sara?” Ryan continued.

“OH MY GOD!” Maria screamed. “Just answer my question!!”

Ryan stared at her for a while, as though examining her.

“I don't know who you are,” he said, walking down the dimly lit hallway. Maria followed him, dodging a cockroach. “But it's obvious that you know who Katie Dibble is.”

“Katie Dibble?” Maria repeated. “What does she have to do with anything??”

“It was her!” Ryan said. “Katie appeared out of nowhere and forces me to break up with Sara. Or else... she would have killed her.”

Shock flashed in Maria's eyes.

“K... Katie?” she repeated.

“I've been terrified of her since then. She's not right in the head. She'd seriously kill someone, anyone, who got in her way. And Sara was the best thing that ever happened to me... wait.”

Ryan's voice was now filled with worry.

“Is she ok?”

He didn't need to say who he was talking about.

“As far as I know,” Maria lied.

“Please - “ Ryan began.

“Listen, I really have to go,” Maria quickly cut across him. She started heading back towards the door. “Thank you so much for - “

“Make sure she's ok,” Ryan said desperately.

Maria stopped walking and turned around. Her eyes locked with Ryan, if only for a brief moment.

“Ryan...,” Maria took a deep breath.

“I'm just not sure I can.”

She hurried back outside.

Chapter 82 Maria Takes Charge

It was the April-May break. Logan and Conrad would get back from their tour with Lady Gaga and Miss Nana any day now.

Maria and Miley were outside in Maria's backyard, training for the climb and discussing important matters.

“I can't believe how much has happened, in just one year,” Maria said.

“I know. It's amazing, and I've been here for like, half of it,” Miley agreed.

For exercise, the two were skipping in large circles around the yard. Maria suddenly realized how familiar this seemed, and had to suppress a giggle.

“Poor Vicky,” Miley broke the silence.

Maria thought for a little.

“I bet Sara knows the answer to this entire mystery. I just wish I could contact her,” Maria said.

“Isn't she with Gargillya?” Miley asked.

“Yes, but Gargillya took her somewhere up in Canada to hide. I'm sure they'll come for a visit or something soon, but I don't think we have any time to waste at all.”

“She doesn't have anyone she would confide her secrets to? Any family? Boyfriend? A BFF?!”

“No... wait a second!” Maria said. “Yeah, I think she does. Justin Tinkleheart, some guy who works at Apple. He would help her understand her lap top. She would talk about him like every day. If anybody knows the secret, it's him.”

“Excellent,” Miley said. “We really might be able to stop this. I guess we're off to Apple.”

“Apple,” Maria said. “That reminds me. If something bad happened to Vicky, shouldn't we try to protect Sonya?”

“Huh?” Miley asked.

“Sonya might try to do something stupid to save her sister, or she might be the next target. Either way, I think it would be best if you went over there to protect her.”

“But what about you? You might need me more that Sonya does.”

“It's ok. I'll be fine,” Maria instantly tried to seem like she wasn't worried.

Miley gave her a stern look.

“Trust me!”

Maria hurried through Trenton, avoiding eye contact with everyone.

The reason she wasn't in her plane was because she would be easily spotted and followed from the sky. She needed to be as sneaky as possible.

Maria arrived at Apple, and hurried inside.

“JUSTIN TINKLEHEART!” Maria called.

An incredibly tall guy quickly ran up to her.

“Um... hi?” Justin asked.

“Oh hay,” Maria said, and then glanced at the receptionist. “Um, can we talk in your office?”

“Why...?” Justin asked.

“Um, no reason,” Maria lied.

After another curious glance, Justin led Maria into his private office.

Maria sat down at a table in the middle of the room. Justin sat down opposite of her.

“What's wrong?” he asked nervously. “Who are you?!”

“Do you know Sara Smilehappygirl?”

“Yeah...,” Justin replied.

“Umm... this is going to sound weird. Really weird. But I need you to tell me almost everything that Sara told you. It could be very important.”

Justin's eyes narrowed.

“Why would it be important? And why should I tell you anything? I don't even know who you are!”

“I'm Maria Flakk, Sara's roommate and best friend. And you should tell me everything because... it could save Sara's life.”

Justin's eyes grew wide.

“She's in trouble?!” he cried.

Maria looked around nervously.

“Shh! Don't freak out yet! I just really need to know anything weird that Sara might have said to you. Like, fast.”

“OK! OK!” Justin said. “It's just that... I feel like I would be betraying her...”

“You wouldn't!” Maria said. “In fact, you would be helping her, a lot.”

Justin gulped.

“Are... are you sure?”

“Positive.”

“Umm... ok. I will.”

Maria listened intently, doing her best to follow along the complicated story.

“So, in the end, it all comes down to this guy named Ryan, and their third break up. I really don't know anything else.”

Maria sat, deep in thought.

“That... makes sense,” she finally said.

“What?” Justin asked.

“Thank you SO much,” Maria said. “I would explain all of this, but there's really no time. No time at all, in fact. AND I still have one more person to interrogate!”

Chapter 81 The Gaga Offer

Vicky was missing.

The news was announced the day after the pod went to visit her. Her body was missing out of the hospital, under mysterious circumstances.

“Oh my God,” Conrad whispered.

“She doesn't have the Britemiscope,” Maria said slowly.

“Does the article say she's gonna be all right without it?” Conrad asked.

Maria quickly scanned.

“It... doesn't think there's any hope,” Maria groaned, closing the newspaper.

“How did this happen?” Logan whispered. “First Sara, now Vicky.”

The pod was sitting in the cafeteria, while Alex, George, Vito, Ashley, and Kristen were up in the lunch line.

“This all relates to Logan's theory,” Conrad said. “There's something deep and dark going on in here!”

“Didn't we think that Vicky was the cause of whatever was going on?” Maria asked.

“We must be wrong. But if it's not Vicky, then who - “

The conversation was interrupted by Professor Gaga, who walked up to their table.

“Hay hon,” she said to Conrad.

“Oh hay...,” Conrad said.

“Listen. I'm going on a mini-tour around New Jersey for the next 2 weeks, during the vacation, and you're my biggest fan. I was wondering if you and a friend would like to come along and manage my band and all that stuff,” Gaga offered.

Conrad dropped the tomato he was about to eat.

“You... jokin',” he choked out.

“Nope. Me and Miss Nana already worked out the entire thing,” Gaga replied.

Conrad opened and closed his mouth.

“W... when?” he whispered.

“We set out tomorrow at dawn,” Gaga answered.

Conrad turned to Maria and Logan.

“Which one of you wants to go?” he whispered.

“I will!” Logan said.

“NO!” Maria cried, but not before Lady Gaga nodded and left.

“DOOD!” she squealed. “There are more important prospects afoot!”

“Darn I forgot...,” Conrad muttered.

“Maria, we are so sorry,” Logan said. Alex, George, Vito, and Ashley rejoined them at the table.

“Anyone want a chip?” Alex offered.

“It's up to you now,” Logan whispered so only Maria could hear. “Be careful, and stick with Miley.”

“Speak softly and carry a big stick,” Conrad advised.
